Bansko is located in the Pirin Mountains, an area that Unesco has included in its World Heritage Sites. Together with Pamporovoand Borovetsit is the magic trio of the big ski resorts of Bulgaria! The traditional village atmosphere with picturesque streets and tavernas (“mehana” in Bulgarian) blends with luxury hotels, an ice rink and a shopping mall at the foot of the ski resort. But the most important thing is the distance from Thessaloníki. Just 210km away!
The base of the ski resort is at an altitude of 936m, at the boundaries of the village and its peak at 2560m. Bansko is the newest and most modern ski resort of Bulgaria and the entire Balkans! It has a total of 11 lifts, a 6315m eight-sit gondola and 14 pistes covering 75km and reaching the village boundaries next to Kempinski and the Sport Hotel! Covering every scenario, there are 240 (!!!) artificial snow cannons which guarantee snow cover from December until mid-April! ! For skiers and snowboarders there are slopes of all difficulty levels with the stunning “Tomba” for the experts. For our little friends there are three kindergartens, three children’s lifts and a carousel playground.
