_general

Kopaonik is Serbia’s largest ski resort and is known for its natural beauty and friendly atmosphere, an ideal destination for families and skiers of all levels.

With its highest peak reaching 2,017 m (Pancicev vrh) and 55 km of total alpine ski slopes, 24 lifts, night skiing (18:00 – 21:00), snowboard and cross-country runs, with the possibility of artificial snow if necessary, it is sure to be on the list of those who love winter sports. At an altitude of 1,770 meters, the winter resort offers a wide range of sports activities. Skiers find a little paradise because of the quality of the snow and its duration, as the snow covers the area from November to May.. According to FIS specifications there are three slalom, giant slalom and downhill runs. There are 24 lifts at the ski resort that carry thousands of skiers per hour and operate from 9am to 4pm. It has well-organized slopes at an altitude of 1650 reaching 2010 meters total length. All pistes are connected to a cable car system and lifts with a capacity of 26,800 people per hour. The center’s flawless organization is by no means accidental. For many decades Kopaonik has been a destination for winter sports enthusiasts who arrive here from all over Europe. The fact that the former Yugoslavia organized the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo and Kopaonik was the training ground for athletes indicates the days of great glory. The distance from Thessaloniki is 510km and the border crossing is done with a new type of ID (with Latin letters).
