It’s time for our winter excursion in the Austrian Alps! Mayrhofen – Hippach is one of the most famous ski and snowboard destinations in Central Europe and is located in the geographical district of Tyrol, in the Zillertal Valley, just 170km away from Munich.
The greater area of Zillertal, at an altitude of 560m – 3250m, includes 535km of pistes and 180 lifts located in 4 areas (Hochzillertal-Hochfügen-Spieljoch, Zillertal Arena, Mayrhofner Bergbahnen, Ski Gletscherwelt Zillertal). Mayrhofen consists of Mount Penken & Ahorn, at an altitude of 560m – 3250m, where the ski resorts Finkenberg, Rastkogel and Eggalm are located. It includes 142km of pistes and 58 lifts for every level of skier, the pist with the highest inclination (78%) in Austria, called “Harakiri”, as well as Penken Park with 6 different areas and gradations for every rider level . In addition to skiing, Mayrhofen is renowned for its apres-ski with restaurants, bars and various mountain and village events.
