Three-day trip to the mythical Olympus and the throne of Zeus, for all those who want to enjoy the experience of climbing the highest mountain in Greece and the unique scenery of this route! The three-day version of the climb to Olympus gives the opportunity for easier adjustment to the altitude and more free time to enjoy the magical landscapes that take your breath away! A route – crossing that should be scheduled by every hiker – climber with good physical condition.
Day 1:
We depart at noon on Friday for Litochoro and the forest location Prionia (1100m). From there we start the ascent following the route Prionia – Spilios Agapitos refuge (2040m) (4.5km, about 3 hours of ascent) where we will spend the first night.
Day 2:
Saturday morning we depart for the second part of the climb (6km, about 3-4 hours) with our destination the refuge of the plateau “Giosos Apostolidis” (2700m).
The ascent to Mytikas (2,918m) is optional, planned for Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning, if the weather conditions allow it and for those whose physical condition allows it. The last part of the climb to Mytikas is accompanied by the team of the mountain guide mr. Goumberis Panagiotis – Derou Giorgos and we use climbing equipment (helmet, baudrier, rope). Those who do not wish to attempt the ascent to Mytika can choose a visit to the nearby peak of Profitis Ilias, a walk to the shelter of Kakkalos or relax on the tallest balcony in Greece!
Day 3:
For our return we follow the route (13.5km) Plateau of Muses (2700m) – Petrostrouga (1925m) – Gortsia (1100m).
*The kitchen in the shelters is operational and can offer a basic but very tasty (!!!) menu.
