Experience this unique skiing/snowboarding experience in the Caucasus Gudauri is Georgia’s largest and fastest growing ski resort. It is located in the Caucasus Mountains, just 120km from Tbilisi, at an altitude of 2200m, with a south-facing direction (maximizing sunshine) and its highest peak (Sadzele) reaching 3279m. It is south-facing, which maximizes sunshine and the ski slopes above the Caucasus forests gives skiers and snowboarders plenty of options for free-ride. With the new lifts that were added this season, we can definitely call it Freeride Paradise!
The ski resort is equipped with 1 booth, 6 and 1 lift (4 new lifts are expected to be operational this season!), which operate daily throughout the ski season from early December to late April and in many cases up to May for the highest peaks. It offers a total of 64km of ski pistes for all level riders. There is also the possibility of night skiing, snow-park and Heli-skiing for the more adventurous ones! Those who decide to travel without their equipment need not to worry as there are many equipment rental shops (the Greek “Sports & Ski” being one of them) that can meet the needs of even the most demanding skier. There are also many English-speaking ski schools that you can apply to improve your technique.
At the base of the ski resort, as well as at various points on its slopes, you will find several cafés and many taverns with traditional Georgian food and classic European cuisine.
